Education
The People’s Medicine Project has been offering opportunities to learn about plants, healing, and health justice for over a decade. We love learning from community wisdom traditions, sharing information, offering workshops, and collaborating with community learning initiatives. We bring a spirit of humility to learning exchanges and believe that there are many ways to hold knowledge and wisdom.
Our current educational partners include the Franklin County jail, the Franklin County Re-Entry center, the Northampton Recovery Center, and the Farmworker Health Program, through Community Health Center of Franklin Co. Beyond our official programs, we enjoy a consistent exchange of wisdom of plant traditions at our herb distributions and clinics, and through our relationship with Riquezas del Campo and the Pioneer Valley Workers’ Center.
Please contact info@peoplesmedicineproject.org if you are interested in hosting PMP for a workshop or dialogue in your community or organization!
Wellness Through the Wall
“Wellness Through the Wall” is our newest educational program and centers on the healing relationship between plants and people. In partnership with the Franklin County Jail, and the Re-Entry Center, PMP provides people experiencing incarceration with knowledge and tools for nervous system regulation, earth connection, and self-care through experiential learning about local healing plants and foods.
