Who is eligible to come to the clinic?
Our intention is to make alternative health care accessible to folks who wouldn’t otherwise have access. Because we realize that personal situations are complex, we encourage self reflection and self selection, rather than requiring documents or hard criteria. We do ask that you read our Am I a fit? eligibility guidelines to help you with your decision.
PMP works closely with the recovery community, and our clinic is housed at the Recover Project. Our appointments, however, are available to people with or without a background in addiction.
How do I make an appointment?
You may make an appointment by emailing us at clinic@peoplesmedicineproject.org or calling us at 413-842-4762. Please know that we are a small team with limited hours, so you can expect a response anywhere between 1-5 days. We will work hard to get back to you as soon as possible! Our office hours are Mondays 12-3.
What is your cancellation policy?
Because we respect our volunteer practitioners’ time and the value of this care, we ask for communication and commitment from our participants. All participants are required to confirm their appointment by 3 pm on the Wednesday before clinic. Unconfirmed appointments will be offered to our wait list.
Because we understand that illness and emergencies happen, participants may cancel last minute once during a 3-month period. Repeated last minute cancellations* or no shows will require a break. After 3 months, you are welcome to schedule again.
*We define a last-minute cancellation as within 24 hours of appointment.
When does the clinic occur?
The clinic generally happens on the second Monday of every month, with the exception of holiday observances.
Where is the clinic located?
The clinic is located in the “RPX” a large studio space behind the Recover Project, located at 68 Federal Street Greenfield, MA 01301. Please enter through the side door of the building at 1 Osgood Street. Street metered parking is available on Osgood street and Federal Street. A free parking lot is just 1 ½ blocks away on Pleasant St.
What can I expect?
We offer sessions with trauma informed, experienced, practitioners who will explain their approach, listen to your needs, respond to your questions, and respect your boundaries. You may read through our list of offerings to determine what modality feels best for your unique situation.
What is expected of me?
We expect good communication from participants. In addition to scheduling-related communications, we ask you to express your need and boundaries with your practitioner. We also ask that you be mindful that other people are sharing the treatment space, and speak and move quietly when you enter the room. Please let us know if you have mobility or language needs so we can prepare accommodation.
Do you take walk-ins?
We see clients for scheduled appointments and are not a “walk-in clinic”. Sometimes, however, we do have last minute cancellations. If you would like to be put on the waitlist for last minute openings for certain services, please contact clinic@peoplesmedicineproject.org.
Are there any costs?
All time with practitioners is offered completely free of charge. For herbal and homeopathic clients who can afford it, we suggest a donation to contribute to the cost of the herbal and homeopathic remedies. And we gladly accept donations of any size if you have appreciated your care! We will accept cash donations at your appointment or you may donate here.
COVID-19 Protocol
1.) Please remember that there are risks to interacting closely with people during the pandemic. Also, given that participants have differing ideas about safety and risk, we ask that you do your part to keep everyone feeling safe and respected, and so will we.
2.) If you are feeling sick, exhibiting any Covid-19 symptoms, or have had contact with anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19 within the past week, please let us know that you will NOT be coming to your appointment.
3.) We do not require proof of vaccination.
4.) Please come with, and wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth throughout your time at the clinic, unless your practitioner invites you to remove it for a certain portion of your treatment.
5.) Due to the fact that clinic will now take place outside, we are much more subject to the weather. If on any given day we determine that the weather is too cold, wet, and/or windy to operate, we will not be offering clinic on that day, and will let you know.
6.) Bodies tend to drop in temperature when they are relaxed, so even on a warmer day, please bring a blanket, and wear more layers than you might expect. If receiving massage, jeans and pants with seams are not ideal. Sweat pants are better.
7.) Please wash your hands before coming to clinic. We will also have hand sanitizer to use if that isn’t possible.
8.) Please use the restroom BEFORE you arrive. We do not have access to bathrooms at this outdoor site.
9.) We will be cleaning and sanitizing the clinic space and equipment used before and after every clinic day and between each client.
