PMP’s Greenfield Healing Clinic (GHC) is offered monthly in downtown Greenfield at the Recover Project. Experienced volunteer practitioners provide free healing services to community members. Our clinic practitioners are trauma informed and committed to upholding PMP’s health justice principles.
The Greenfield Clinic is PMP’s longest-running and most established program. The clinic supports many folks healing from acute and chronic physical and mental health challenges.
Through innovative community partnership and leadership in the Opioid Task Force’s committee on Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM), PMP has played a key role in education and advocacy efforts for alternatives to opioid prescription medications in Franklin County.
While nobody will ever be turned away from clinic services, the clinic is intended to provide care to folks who otherwise would not be able to access these services. To learn more about what we mean, check out our “Am I a Good Fit?” guidelines to see if you qualify. We appreciate your honesty and integrity in determining your eligibility.

Our Current Offerings
In-person Clinic
Integrated Bodywork
with Danielle Frodyma
Danielle provides therapeutic bodywork and wellness support. This is how Danielle describes her work:
“In an hourly session, together we will assess your needs and priorities for feeling well and supported in your body/mind. We may then choose to work with various hands on modalities (Acupressure, Massage, Cranio Sacral therapy, lymphatic drainage, myofascial therapy, etc.) while you lie fully clothed on a massage table and/or discuss other means to facilitate a well body/mind.”
Cranio Sacral therapy is nourishment for the nervous system. Clients lie fully clothed on a table and the practitioner gently lays on hands, feeling for the rhythm of the cerebral spinal fluid, and supporting the clients body as he is simultaneously guided by it. Craniosacral therapy can address stress and anxiety, un-groundedness, jaw, neck, back, and other pain, headache, physical discomfort, nervous system regulation, low energy levels, poor sleep, recovery from injury, emotional/spiritual support and more.
Massage
with Devon Whitney, Deliah Rosel, Martha Hoffman, and Ivy Wood
Massage therapy is a flowing conversation between the client/client’s body and the practitioner. Our practitioners have trained in many different bodywork modalities and will tailor your session based on your needs and her experience in Swedish massage, Shiatsu, sports massage, and deep tissue massage. Each person’s healing process is unique and our practitioners feel honored to be a witness to that process.
Reiki
with Devon Whitney
Reiki is a gentle hands on energy practice that involves the transfer of universal life force energy. After a brief intake, you will lie fully clothed on the massage table (which can be heated up to your comfort level) where you will be supported with pillows and blankets. Devon, the Reiki practitioner, will gently place her hands on various places on your body-head, shoulders, arms, abdomen, legs, back. People often say they experience the energy flowing as warmth in the practitioner’s hands and in their bodies. It is also often experienced as very relaxing and peaceful.
Acupuncture
with Kathy
A well known treatment for pain syndromes and for releasing what is blocked, acupuncture also works deeply on any imbalance in the body, structural or functional, emotional or spiritual. Nervous system disorders, digestive and respiratory imbalances, circulatory and hormonal disorders can all be treated effectively with acupuncture.
This is how Kathy describes acupuncture:
“When the energetic rivers of our body flow freely, when the soil is rich and fertile and stable, when the cycles of rest and activity, the cycles of night and day are balanced, then we feel in tune, we are in health, we are nurtured in our lives. Acupuncture can help us guide us toward this state of well-being.”
Shiatsu
with Gina
Shiatsu Massage is an alternative technique that involves manual pressure applied to specific points on the body in an attempt to relieve tension and pain. According to the Japanese healing treatment, Shiatsu (meaning finger pressure) massage uses thumbs, fingers, elbows, and knees to concentrate pressure at certain energy pathways in the body called meridians. The massage also known as acupressure works to reduce muscle tension and fatigue and is thought to improve blood circulation in the body as well as improve function of the lymphatic system.
Reflexology
with Deliah
Reflexology is a type of therapy that uses gentle pressure on specific points along your feet (and possibly on your hands or ears as well) to help you feel better. This eases stress, and helps your body work better. It’s also known as zone therapy.
Remote Services
Homeopathic Consultations
with Ann Mick
The purpose of homeopathy is to stimulate healing, either in situations calling for first aid, or for resolving an illness, or for supporting optimal recovery of a persistent condition. Homeopathic practitioners interview the patient, examine the patient as needed, and then choose a specific homeopathic remedy to support the patient’s most complete and gentle healing from the symptoms that the patient is experiencing at that time. Homeopathic remedies can be particularly helpful to patients at any stage of recovery from substance use disorder in managing stress and physical discomfort.
Herbal Consultations
with Hannah Jacobson-Hardy, Lynn Golan, and Ced Clearwater
An herbal consultation offers a deep exploration of the client’s whole health picture; including lifestyle, environmental stressors, and emotional wellness. The herbalist and the client then work together to make an achievable plan (which usually includes taking herbs) that support overall wellness, and/or addresses a particular issue. Participants will receive an herbal formulation from our apothecary as part of their healing plan. Refills for herbal remedies will require a follow up appointment with an herbalist.
Integrative Nutrition Consultation
with Carly Leusner
I’m a trained herbalist and functional, integrative nutritionist, with a background in culinary arts. I love working with individuals seeking relief from sugar/carb cravings, mood swings, and digestive struggles. If you are in recovery, have depression, anxiety, IBS, candida, dysbiosis, intestinal permeability, or SIBO, I can help you find your way back to health. I support individuals through comprehensive lab result analysis, a nutritionally focused physical exam, a complete intake/health history, and ongoing health coaching support to help you move towards your health goals. Healing is a process; you can expect to meet for at least three sessions for minor health issues, and six or more sessions for chronic health concerns.
PMP and Recovery Healing
People’s Medicine Project has been engaging in substance abuse prevention and recovery work since 2014. In 2017, we recognized the need for more access to tools and services that would support individuals in early recovery. We created two specific offerings to support our community members during this vulnerable time: Acupuncture Access Program and Homeopathy for Addictive Substances Program.
Growing scientific evidence has affirmed that alternative health care offers many viable solutions to manage pain, acute withdrawal symptoms, and treat PAWS (Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome). People’s Medicine Project collaborates closely with the Opioid Task Force and is committed to expanding access to tools for prevention and recovery.
ACUPUNCTURE ACCESS PROGRAM
This program provides people in early recovery from opiate addiction access to frequent, unlimited acupuncture treatments. Realizing that our participants in early recovery required more frequent and consistent of care during this vulnerable time, we created a partnership with Greenfield Community Acupuncture to meet this need.
This program is available to low-income community members in early opioid recovery (one year or less), seeking frequent acupuncture treatments to support their recovery. The treatments also support for healing underlying causes of addiction including pain, depression, anxiety, and trauma.
In need? Please reach out, we’d love to connect you with this healing program!

CAM COMMITTEE, Opioid Task Force
Through the “Complementary and Alternative Modalities” (CAM) committee, The People’s Medicine Project and the Opioid Task Force strategize about and implement initiatives aimed at reducing opioid prescriptions and providing non-prescription alternatives to prevention, treatment and recovery. Through our on-going CAM educational series, we inform healthcare providers about these alternatives, and how their patients may access them.
